The Overlay Route Events tool populates empty cells with zeros (for numeric fields) or empty strings (for text fields) instead of null values.

After running the tool, select all the table records with a blank value in the text fields or 0 in the numberic fields or 12:00:00am in the date fields, and use the field calculator to set the fields to Null. Note: Cannot field calculate to null in a .dbf.Steps to Reproduce
