Workaround

Once the process of generating the Orthomosaic is complete, follow the following steps to provide a higher quality DEM:
  1. Run the Generate Point Cloud tool with the orthomapping mosaic dataset as the input. Set the Matching method to Enhanced Semiglobal Matching to retain the maximum amount of surface detail. This creates several LAS point cloud files.

  2. Run the Create LAS Dataset tool and load the LAS files.

  3. Run the LAS Dataset to Raster tool using the LAS dataset created in the previous step as input. Set Options as follows: Interpolation type = Binning, Cell Assignment = IDW, and Void Fill Method = Natural Neighbor. Set the Sampling Value to Ground Sampling Distance corresponding to the photogrammetry dataset (in this case 2 cm).
