The measure tool and scale bar of the OOTB .NET web ADF application uses planer measurement which should be changed to geodesic measurement to provide accurate/consistent/more meaningful distance measurement, especially in cases where WGS 1984 Web Mercator_Auxiliary_Sphere coordinate system needs to be used for the map service and web application’s default coordinate system.
