The Make Query Table geoprocessing tool does not generate a valid new key field (OID) in ArcGIS Pro 2.2 for a many-to-many join of a table to feature class, although the tool does in ArcMap 10.6.

Workaround

  1. Open MakeQueryTable_bug.mpk in ArcMap 10.6.
  2. Run Make Query Table tool on the Iowa CountyBoundaries and IowaCountyTable with the following input parameters (MakeQueryTable_ArcMap.jpg):User-added image
  3. The tool runs successfully.
  4. Select by Attribute with the following input parameters(SelectByAttribute_ArcMap.jpg):User-added image
  5. Selection works as expected.
  6. Export the temporary query table to a feature class (right-click on the layer in the Table of Contents > Data > Export Data) in a file geodatabase.
  7. Open the attribute table and the fields display as expected (CorrectFields_ArcMap.jpg).User-added image
