The locationToAddress method of Locator Class returns the following error in the console, "Cannot read property 'toJSON' of null."

The LocationToAddress method has changed to now take params object. This is documented as such in https://developers.arcgis.com/javascript/latest/api-reference/esri-tasks-Locator.html#locationToAddress and also in the 4.12 release notes, https://developers.arcgis.com/javascript/latest/guide/release-notes/.
