The legend disappears when attempting to resize it. This issue occurs when the second of two polygon layers in the legend is set to 'Place item(s) in a new column.'

This bug is a duplicate of BUG-000095171 and have the same root cause.

Workaround

To resize the legend, check the 'Place item(s) in a new column' option for both items.
