The Import XML Workspace Document geoprocessing tool fails and returns the "Error 002899: The sequence name is invalid" error message if the exported feature class contains an attribute rule that refers to a database sequence using the schema_owner.sequence_name format.

Workaround

  • Temporarily modify the attribute rule to remove the schema owner from the sequence name, and then export the XML file. 
  • Use the Copy-Paste method to move the feature class. 
  • Use ArcGIS Pro 2.9 or a lower version to export the XML file.
