It is implemented in ArcGIS API for JavaScript 4.x. Documented in https://developers.arcgis.com/javascript/3/jsapi/simplefillsymbol-amd.html#style and states, "The default value is STYLE_SOLID. Color is valid only with STYLE_SOLID."
