Bug

The first time the Edit Task to 'Modify Edge' is changed after adding a Contour causes the edit session to abort with the message "Current edit task must be 'Create New Feature'. Aborting edit session." Restarting the edit session and selecting 'Modify Edge' works just fine.

Workaround

Start the edit session again or save the map document, close ArcMap after adding the contours and then reopen the MXD to continue work.
