The field in the first position of the attribute table cannot be nullified from the Attributes pane.

The issue only happens for the selected feature the first time the column is sorted, but not for subsequent sortings. Setting the field to 'Workaround
Avoid this by nullifying the fields with the Attributes pane as long as the field is not in the first position. For text fields with blank values, instead of "<NULL>", entering a simple letter or phrase allows the field to be nullified again.
