The FeatureTemplates widget does not exclude the specific template item when the value for the filterFunction property is returned as false in ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript.

Workaround

There is a workaround for this issue to exclude only the specific item from the feature template:

Include logic in the custom filter function that if the filter label includes Incident Report (Incident Report is a field name, and all the other items are included under Incident Report), If the incident report is returned false, the filter function works as expected when item 'Dead Animal' is returned true and false for all the other items. To test this workaround, uncomment lines 121 and 122 in the sample application.
