Bug

The error, “Error: User does not have privileges to perform this operation. [The account logged into portal is not licensed with the ArcGIS Advanced Editing user type extension.]” is returned when creating, deleting, or editing versions for a branched versioned feature service in ArcGIS Pro, even though the user has the ArcGIS Advanced Editing add-on license enabled in Portal for ArcGIS.

Additional Information

The licensing information is cached when you first connect to the portal. We do not want to have to make REST requests each time an edit is performed to check on licensing information. To refresh your licensing information, you can save and reopen your project, or you can sign out of your portal and then sign back in.

Workaround

Sign out of the portal in ArcGIS Pro and then sign back in again. This issue is caused because the license was assigned after the user logged into ArcGIS Pro (or the portal of ArcGIS Pro).
