Additional Information

Use scale suppression to limit how many features are displayed at large scales. Consider generalized features for a small scale viewing. Generally due to the transfer protocol (http) vs reading from a direct database connection feature services are slower to display. This is exacerbated when attempting to draw many features at once because feature services are able to only draw a certain number of features per query. Many successful customers are using the feature services effectively by limiting the size of the query response via generalized/merging features, or by limiting the scales at which the features draw. Alternatively, if the features are just being used for display, consider using map services or vector tile services.
