Additional Information

The distance parameter is not intended as an exact distance between vertices, it is the maximum distance between vertices which keeps the geometry within the specified offset tolerance. From the tool documentation: "Distance: The maximum linear distance between vertices. This distance will always be applied to line segments and to simplify curves. The default value is a function of the data's X,Y tolerance."
