The CSS for the Floor Filter widget is configured such that the icons and labels within buttons appear squished when the widget is added to the content of the Expand widget.

Workaround

Add the below CSS to allow the widget buttons to have the correct width and display correctly: 

.esri-floor-filter__layout--expanded .esri-floor-filter__button-container { 

      width: max-content; 

 }
