Workaround

Do not select Compute Statistics while executing the tool.Use LAS Dataset Statistics geoprocessing tool to update the statistics after completing execution of the Change LAS Class codes tool.Alternatively, statistics can also be updated from the LAS Dataset Properties window > Statistics tab.
