Bug
The Calculate Value Tool works within a model when running it in the model builder dialog box, but does not work when running it from a model tool in ArcToolbox.

Workaround
Run the model through the model builder dialog:1. Right click the Acres Calculator model tool in the Users Tool toolbox2. Click Edit3. Click Model4. Click Validate Entire Model5. Click Run Entire ModelSteps to Reproduce
