Additional Information

The Calculate Field and other geoprocessing tools can be run outside of edit sessions. In these cases, there is an option within the geoprocessing pane to enable undo. The attribute table enables and disables the command as a convenience but does not control if the geoprocessing tool can be run or not. The Calculate Field tool can be accessed from the Analysis > Tools tab if editing is disabled. It is recommended to close the Calculate Field tool opened from an attribute table before enabling and disabling edit. Alternatively, within the geoprocessing pane, toggle the Enable Undo button on to undo edits.
