The Calculate Field tool converts some slashes (/) and number combinations into special characters, resulting in undesired results.

Additional Information

This is the expected behavior and a result of how Python implements strings. '\575' is correctly interpreted as a Ž character. If the actual string \575 is desired, use a raw string (Refer to https://docs.python.org/3/reference/lexical_analysis.html). Return r'\575' instead of \575.

Workaround

For number combinations resulting in special characters, place any letter between the \ and the first digit.

For example: \t575 or \k563

This results in a normal output.
