The arcpy.Exists() function returns true on feature classes existing in another workspace or in schemas within geodatabases in a PostgreSQL database. The function does not respect "arcpy.env.workspace" defined before.

Additional Information

arcpy.Exists just checks for the existence of the table based on its name. The table's contents and properties may or may not be accessible based on permissions, i.e., "Cannot open table" errors.

Workaround

Do not use a long name such as 'prune.gisviewer.twiter', but a shorter name such as 'twiter' returns false.
