Additional Information

Duplicate of BUG-000108497: Running Apply Layer Symbology as a script in the Python window does not update the symbology in the map.

Workaround

  1. Use the Apply Symbology from Fayer geoprocessing tool
  2. Reference the object rather than the layer.
