Bug

The ArcGIS Workflow Manager (Classic) task operation Play button is not disabled after pressing play to execute a workflow step, thus allowing the play button to be pressed again before the first play completes. This can lead to unpredictable results if the workflow step action has consequences.

Additional Information

ArcGIS Desktop (including ArcGIS Engine and ArcObjects) is in mature support and will be retired March 1, 2026. Mature support means the end of functionality-based patches and hotfixes; therefore, this issue will not be addressed. There are no plans for future releases of ArcGIS Desktop, and it is recommended that you migrate to ArcGIS Pro. See Migrate from ArcMap to ArcGIS Pro for more information. https://www.esri.com/en-us/arcgis/products/arcgis-pro/resources/migrate

Workaround

In the above scenario, simply end the workflow, as the version is supposedly deleted. If it is not deleted and is locked, remove the lock and delete it manually.
