Bug

The ArcGIS Survey123 app does not open to an existing record via a URL scheme link. Using the q parameter, it will just open up to the folder defined in the URL and displayed the list of all survey items (unfiltered by query).

Workaround

  • Workaround 1

Replace the q parameter with the filter parameter. This works in the version s123 3.13 (although this fails in the earlier versions of s123).

e.g. arcgis-survey123://?itemID=<itemID>&action=<edit/view>&update=true&folder=<inbox/outboox/sent/etc>&filter=<SurveyFieldName>:<MapFieldName>

NOTE: This opens the inbox and filters all records that match the statement. So this won't actually open the survey item itself, the user needs to click on the item after filtering to open it.

  • Workaround 2

If the user is happy to edit or view existing survey records from an ArcGIS Survey123 web app form as opposed to the native app then this URL format work.

https://survey123.arcgis.com/share/<itemID>?mode=<edit/view>&objectId=<OID_number>

NOTE: This method opens up the survey item itself.

NOTE: To get an existing record, specify the mode parameter along with the OID.
