The ArcGIS Server default print service returns the error message, "An error occurred while creating the printed map" if the ArcGIS Server REST endpoint is logged in the same browser session before sending a print request.

This is a known limitation. If a user signs into the ArcGIS Server services directly, a cookie is created that gives them access to the ArcGIS Server services they have access to. If an ArcGIS API for JavaScript app, such as the Map Viewer, is opened then in another tab it does not know about this cookie, and the service appears to be public, so it does not generate a token for it, resulting in failure to print the service. Esri recommends signing out of the ArcGIS Server REST endpoint before printing secure services an ArcGIS API for JavaScript app.Steps to Reproduce
