Workaround

  • Either create a new field to alter the join field to upper case or use the Calculate Field tool on the existing field to change all the information to upper case.
  • If altering the existing field, configure the Calculate Field tool with the following settings and expressions:
    • Input Table: Features targeted for alteration.
    • Field Name: The join field used to perform the join (In this example, the field is named Address).
    • Expression Type: Python.
    • Expression: Address = !Address!.upper()
    • Enable the Enable Undo toggle button.
    • Click Apply to confirm the field has changed to all upper case and click Run.
  • Use the same workflow as above to create a new field. For the expression, use: NewField = !Address!.upper().
  • Confirm both fields used in the join contain values in all upper case.
