The Add Attribute Index tool fails to work when the access permission for SDE.DEFAULT is set to Protected with a message displayed, "Operation only allowed by the owner of the version [SDE.DEFAULT]".

Add the attribute index in the feature class Properties in ArcCatalog by following the steps below:1. Right-click the feature class.2. Select Properties.3. On the Feature Class Properties wizard, click the Indexes tab.4. Click the Add button to add the field as attribute index.Steps to Reproduce
