The Abandon Features geoprocessing tool in ArcGIS for Water Utilities generates the error message, “IOError: "\Database.SDE.ABDPoint" does not exist." The error occurs when working in a version outside of the default.

This is a core bug with ArcGIS Desktop 10.5.1 and cannot be resolved in the abandon script.

Workaround

  • Upgrade to ArcGIS Desktop 10.6.
  • Work in the default version at ArcGIS Desktop 10.5.1.
