Additional Information

To modify feature templates based on Unique Value Renderer: Render the layer with a unique value renderer to create corresponding feature templates. Prior to setting the unique value renderer field's custom expression, select all the feature templates in Manage Feature Templates, and make a bulk update, e.g. add a description or a tag, or change an attribute. This stops auto-generation of templates so when the renderer is updated to use a custom expression, the templates can be used as a starting point for manual updates. After updating the templates, set the symbology Field's custom expression. Go back to the Manage Templates pane, and for templates that do not match the appropriate symbols, set their corresponding default attributes to satisfy the expression. (Note- to reset auto-generation, in Manage Template, right-click on the layer name and choose Delete All Templates, and then Create All Templates) Alternatively, the user can create all new feature templates. Skip bulk update to feature templates, and allow feature templates to be auto-generated. After setting symbols custom expression, manually create new templates in the Manage Template pane, and set default attributes to satisfy the expression.
