Subsequent ArcSDE connections in ArcGIS Desktop 10 inherit the same credentials from the first established direct connection, when connecting to an ArcSDE Version 9.2 geodatabase using the LOCAL string.

1. With an Oracle 10g client, type sde:oracle10g:<SQL_Net_alias> in the Service text box. 2. Provide the server, user and password information.3. Provide the service text box as ' sde:oracle10g.'4.
