Spatial reference for an image service is not reflected in the web map service (WMS) service capabilities or WMS Configuration in ArcGIS Server 10.2.2.

This issue is logged against a version of the software which is no longer supported, and has not had activity in some time. Change the properties for the WMS capabilities to add the ‘additional spatial reference systems’, and add ‘EPSG: 3857’.
This can be done using Server Manager or Service Properties via ArcCatalog. The changes are reflected in the WMS Configuration following a service restart.
