Workaround
- Export the ArcGIS Online hosted feature layer as a local file geodatabase.
- Add the local file geodatabase to the ArcGIS Pro project.
- Perform the spatial join with the exported file geodatabase as the target layer.
- Overwrite the hosted feature layer.
