Bug
Some special characters (either inserted symbols or in equasions*) that are inserted into Word document objects do not display correctly in ArcMap (*only when saved in Microsoft Office 2007).

Currently we have no plans to address this issue.Workaround
Add the special characters into an equasion. If using Microsoft Office 2007, subsequently also save the Microsoft Word document as a 97-2003 compatible .doc file.Steps to Reproduce
