Additional Information

Using the Perform Attribute Search First option for a definition query requires an actual attribute query to be present. It effectively disables the use of a spatial filter. Without a limiting attribute query in place, any querying (including panning & zooming) in the map will return all records and cause performance issues. Only use this option if you have an attribute query in place that limits the return of more records than a spatial filter would.
