Selecting a new default basemap from the ArcGIS Pro Options pane does not update the drop-down selection when the change is made after searching for 'basemap' in the backstage Options pane.

Workaround
Even though the drop-down does not update to reflect the new selection, the default basemap change is correctly registered in the settings
