NIM006341: For BINARY/LOB/WKB selected features of a non-GDB Feature Class are not drawn/highlighted in the ArcMap Map Display window.

Workaround

-Set the selection threshold to a value that approximates your expected selection count.or-Register the feature class with the geodatabase (make sure the FC has an objectid column)
