Select and identify do not work on graphs created from file geodatabase tables or dBASE tables via the Make Graph tool.

Workaround

1. Create an empty shapefile or feature class that has the same schema as the table. To do so, create a new feature class or shapefile by right-clicking the location in the Catalog window > New > Feature Class, and click the Import button in the fields section, and select the table. 2. Create the graph using the Create Graph Wizard from the empty feature class (It appears blank and is expected). Right-click the graph, and click Save to save the graph. 3. Open the Make Graph tool, and select the graph saved in the previous step. Change the data source to the table, and run the tool. The Identify function works in the new graph.
