Additional Information

When there are more than 10,000 features in a scatter plot, they must be aggregated into a 10x10 grid, which is why some of the density pattern is missed. However, scatter plots are usually used to look at shapes, relationships, and trends. For examining density, try a matrix heat chart with numeric axes.

Workaround

  1. Change the chart symbol from 'Size' to 'Proportional' on the Data tab of the Chart Properties pane.
  2. Select any attribute field from the dropdown menu and enter the same values for 'Min size' and 'Max size' to constrain the symbol size.
