Sample file ("SetTimeExtentsButton.cs" OR "SetTimeExtentsButton.vb") does not change the time extent of the layer unless code is added to the end of Onclick method.

Workaround

'need to add two lines to make it work in at the end of Onclick method. (see attached) pTimeDataDef.CustomTimeExtent = pTimeExt pFLyr = pTimeDataDef
