Running the Copy Features tool from ArcGIS Pro returns the error message, “Error 999999 - Something unexpected caused the tool to fail” when consuming a map image layer.

Additional Information

The input of the Copy Features tool must be a feature layer, not a map image.

Workaround

  1. Make an ArcGIS Server connection in ArcGIS Pro.
  2. In ArcGIS Pro, import the map image layer in Contents.
  3. Run the Copy Features tool.
