The extent is updated dynamically by the database and cannot be updated manually.

Workaround

  • Use a file geodatabase that includes a feature service with actual data, and when it is published, remove the data from the feature service.
  • Alternatively, follow the workaround provided in this article: https://support.esri.com/en/Technical-Article/000018637.
