Provide functionality to disable the color of the annotation text marker background reflecting the Annotation Construction box or for the color to reflect only a portion of the shape of the symbol chosen, and not the entire box.

Workaround 1: Change the color of the text from black to any other color.Workaround 2: Click the text after typing it. The typed text is highlighted, making it visible.
