Additional Information

The orientation issue is due to an issue with the Google Chrome browser: https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=158753#c4 and webkit https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89052 It is because they do not have support for the `image-orientation` CSS property. When this is implemented, it should automatically work since we have added image-orientation: from-image; to our stylesheets Setting this property enables the browser to use EXIF data from the image. Mozilla Firefox does render properly because of this. The 4.x popup is fixed to recognize this if using the Mozilla Firefox browser.

Workaround

  • Use Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge.
  • On desktop, save the image using the Windows 10 Photos app. The pixels are stored in an orientation according to the .exif file.
