Additional Information

Collector for ArcGIS populates the orientation tag in the EXIF metadata and it is up to the client whether the EXIF is read or not. An example tag for an image taken vertically on an iPhone reads 'Rotate 90 CW', meaning the client must rotate the image 90 degrees to appear vertically.

Workaround

Using an iOS device, take photos in the landscape orientation, with the device oriented in a way that the bottom of the device is on the right when taking the picture.
