Description
In ArcGIS 9.2, OLE DB connections in ArcCatalog take a longer time to make the initial connection to Oracle 9i/10g or DB2 database compared to ArcGIS 9.1. Once the connection is established, performance is just as fast as with ArcGIS 9.1.
Cause
This is a known issue.
The longer connection times are due to longer queries being performed in the database during the connection process. All ArcGIS 9.2 client machines and all users connecting to Oracle 9i/10g or DB2 can experience this behavior.
Workaround
This issue is to be resolved in a future release or service pack. There are no work arounds at this time.
