Workaround
Perform the following procedure to have the story maps in one folder while avoiding this issue:
- Delete the duplicate story map from the Content tab in ArcGIS Online.
- Make sure the original story map is in the desired folder. If it is not, check its box in the Content tab, select the Move button, and then choose the correct desired folder.
- Navigate to the story map's item details page and select the Configure button.
- Hover to the right of the Publish button, click the three dots, and duplicate the story map.
- Go to the Content tab in ArcGIS Online, look in the folder with the original story map, and make sure the new duplicated story map is in there.
