Additional Information

The code example provided leverages an XSLT that is provided with ArcMap. In ArcMap the only way to accomplish this task is using the XSLT that was provided with ArcMap and one of the gp tools. Since this is a migration topic, it is reasonable to expect that a user will have access to ArcMap resources as well as ArcGIS Pro. If you only have ArcGIS Pro and not ArcMap, you will not be able to follow the code example since the XSLT is not provided with Pro, which is why it states in the topic that the capability is not provided. In ArcGIS Pro, the metadata editor will be eventually updated to provide a way to remove the geoprocessing history in the UI. And, similar resources to those provided in ArcMap will also be provided with Pro at the same time to allow you to remove the gp history content in an automated way using the arcpy.metadata Python capabilities. However, we are not able to implement these in Pro until some other work has been completed--this work is blocked by another team. The example leveraging the ArcMap resources is provided as a workaround for situations where there are serious performance problems that need to be handled urgently before we are able to provide the capability directly in Pro.

Workaround

ignore the code example.
