Additional Information

The software behaves as expected. Layer 6 and Layer 7 are network dataset layers that support only server-side rendering and do not support client-side rendering, so they cannot be added to the map individually. When adding the entire map service to Map Viewer, the client handles network dataset layers, exports the image based on the extent, and renders the image on the client side. However, the client does not support adding network dataset layers individually. Importing this issue to improve the traffic service documentation and clarify the behavior.

Workaround

  1. Do not specify a layer ID at the end of the World Traffic Service URL (https://traffic.arcgis.com/arcgis/rest/services/World/Traffic/MapServer) and add the service to the map.
  2. Observe all sub layers are added, including layers 6 and 7.
  3. Turn off all unnecessary layers, leaving only layers 6 and 7 visible on the map.
