Workaround
1. Open a new map document.2. Go to Tools > Options and under the Dialog Connections tab, update the proxy username and password.3. Apply the changes and exit ArcMap.When the user opens the existing maps, it uses the updated proxy information and does not prompt with incorrect credentials.
