Workaround

"Intersect3DLineWithMultipatch_3D" tool will give expected (correct ) result if enter the following code (or similar) into the Python window: >>>import arcpy>>>arcpy.Intersect3DLineWithMultiPatch_3d("<a href="file:C:/sample.gdb/sightLine" target="_blank">C:\sample.gdb\sightLine</a>","<a href="file:C:/sample.gdb/building3D" target="_blank">C:\sample.gdb\building3D</a>","IDS_ONLY") Steps to Open a Python Window in Arc Map -1. Open Arc Map2. Go to Geoprocessing menu<a href="http://3.In" target="_blank">3.In</a> the Geoprocessing menu click on Python and the python window will appear, copy the above code in that window.
