In the Xamarin iOS app, the extent of the MapView shows bigger vertically than in Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF)/ Universal Windows Platform (UWP) applications.

The current behavior is as-designed: The visible extent should completely encapsulate the extent specified in the InitialViewpoint property or the SetViewpointAsync methods. It shows a greater map area vertically because the aspect ratio of the device/view varies between a vertical iPhone and a landscape desktop app. For a different behavior, consider using ViewpointType CenterAndScale instead of BoundingGeometry (extent).Steps to Reproduce
